Hey Beauties.

Tis the season to wear colour without any reserve, at least to me. For this outfit, I partnered with Everything5pounds to create a summer chic look to inspire you this season. I selected these items for several reasons.

First is the yellow floral blazer. It’s warmer in the U.K. but still there are wet days that are colder. On days like these, throwing on a lightweight jacket that will keep me warm without baking me is perfect. I picked this blazer because I love the floral print on the jacket, who doesn’t flowers. The fit of this blazer is excellent. It is tailored so well. The blazer has two front welt pockets which have flaps covering them. The most iconic feature is the shoulder pads, so Grace Jones! Shoulder pads are known for flattering the shoulders and adding more structure to jackets.

Second is the bright yellow dress. Oh, where do I start.  I love everything about this dress. I picked this dress primarily because of the colour, yellow always looks so good on me. I also thought the dress design was very cute. Cute teenage girl meets adult chic. I quite like the fact that it has a mix of jersey and crochet lace fabrics. The peplum on the waist is a win for me because peplums are great for creating the illusion of wider hips. This dress has my favourite neckline, the ‘sweet heart’! I have loved this neckline even before I got into design school. I consider it one the most feminine necklines in women’s wear design because it draws attention to the neck without showing too much of your bust..

Lastly is the star of this outfit, the red shoes. I built this whole look around these shoes. The colour and style are a match made in design heaven. The shoes have a thick block heel which is more comfortable to walk in. It also has fringed tassels in the front. To give your feet room to breathe, the shoes have adjustable criss-cross lace up that goes around the front of the shoe and up around your ankle.
