S3 – Because I’m Happy ^.^

I see the state of happiness as a conscious choice. Let’s be very practical here and go back to the basics to shine more light on what I am trying to express.

Example case
Temi shares a tiny studio flat with Rose. They have been friends for a little over a year. They are quite different when it comes to personalities, interests and personal beliefs. They often have arguments about the simplest things such as who should do the dishes, who should get groceries, who should do the laundry e.t.c. Temi is considering moving out because she can’t stand Rose’s anal personality. Temi is not happy living with Rose.

Hidden Details of Example case
Temi doesn’t pay rent, she doesn’t even pay the entire amount required for grocery shopping every month and Rose is the only real friend she has. Rose feels like she is being taken advantage of. Temi and Rose really care for each other but have a hard time expressing it.

Both girls are very different based on factors such as upbringing, cultural differences e.t.c. What if Temi tells Rose how she feels without judgement and Rose opens-up on her perspective on their living condition. These girls are stuck in their ‘unhappy’ state because they chose not to communicate their thoughts to each other.

Now let’s relate this our daily lives. Often, we are presented with situations in which we resent. But instead of voicing our real feelings, we stew in despair! This is one of my school of thoughts;

If you don’t like where you are, change it. If you can’t change it, focus on the good instead of the bad!

It is a lot harder than it sounds I have to admit, but the strength you would use to complain and blame your misfortune on others, use that same strength to change your status quo. Do you agree? Let me know in the comment section below…
