Hello my sweet sweet Pumpkin!
How has your week been so far?
Everything is fast in the modern day life. Fast food, fast internet, quick delivery, speed-dating e.t.c. Instant access to almost everything makes the world a smaller place. With just a phone call, you can reach even the farthest parts of the east. But does the ‘instantness’ of our modern day lives truly bring us together? Does it encourage real physical conversations or does it take out of the beauty of one-on-one interactions with a fellow human?
Whenever I return to my small studio flat after a whole day of ‘hustling’ in London, I usually feel like I just got off a thread mill or a cross trainer! Why do I need to go to the Gym afterwards if my normal daily life can be compared to a workout session. My concern now is while we are busy working hard to make money and trading our human time for hard currency, when do we take time and breathe. This would prevent you from burning out.
If you are familiar with workout sessions, it is usually advisable to take short breaks between routines. During these breaks, you can do stretches which would help your muscles heal quicker from the strain of exercising. Avoiding these breaks and stretches will normally result in painful muscle pains the day after you work out. The same method can be applied to our daily lives. Try and take short, medium or long breaks when the need arises. This will create time for you to recharge and renew your mental, physical, spiritual and creative juices. Believe me, you’ll be grateful you did.
It is summer now in London, if you haven’t planned a holiday yet, you still have time to do so. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate, it could be as simple as a weekend trip to a city outside London and within the U.K. There are a lot of beautiful places in the U.K. such as Oxford, Brighton, Isle of Wight, Cornwall, Dorset and many more.
Find some options here and here.
Stay tuned for the last look from the summer lookbook series in future posts
